I bought my first pair 5years ago or so. Had the hard plastic head band. I bought my last pair to try the soft. For me each has a place, I wear the plastic head band most of the time and prefer it. The soft head band works when i am reading in bed. I wish I had bought larger XL so it fit better. But works while I am reading in bed.
